Special Education

Brock Clay's Special Education group is one of the most experienced and successful in the state of Georgia. Our attorneys have advised school districts throughout the state on every aspect of providing services to students with disabilities, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as well as state and local regulations. Our attorneys have helped school districts develop legally-compliant policies and procedures, have assisted with the creation of legally-compliant educational programs to meet the needs of disabled students, and have provided successful representation for IEP meetings, mediations, due process hearings, state DOE complaint, OCR complaints, as well as in state and federal litigation. We pride ourselves in focusing on preventative advice -- whether it be through the extensive training we provide or through review of policies, procedures, and programming -- to help our clients solve problems to prevent litigation before it starts. When litigation becomes unavoidable, however, our attorneys have an extensive amount of experience and a proven track record of successfully defending our clients and have a virtually unparalleled record of success in administrative, state, and federal/appellate litigation.

In addition to our expertise in laws related to students with disabilities, the attorneys in our group are also well versed in general student matters and routinely advise on a wide array of legal issues relevant to public schools. We routinely advise our clients on student discipline matters, constitutional matters, student record issues, attendance and residency issues, and any other legal issue facing public school districts today. Our broad-based expertise allows us to answer literally any legal question that affects our clients and their provision of services to students with disabilities.

Diversity:
We at Brock Clay value and celebrate diversity in all its forms and recognize its importance not only to our firm's success, but to our clients' success, as well. We are privileged to represent some of the most diverse school districts in the state, if not the nation. Our clients educate children from all over the world, of every race, ethnicity, and religion. We know how important diversity is to the success of any organization, recognizing that our ability to offer a broad array of experiences can only strengthen our ability to serve our clients. We are proud of our diversity of backgrounds, experiences, talents, and strengths, and we are committed to creating and maintaining a welcoming and supportive environment for all firm employees where all are valued and respected.
