Ms. Eaves focuses her practice on education law, specifically special education, Section 504, Americans with Disabilities Act, policy development and implementation, student rights, open records, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, Constitutional issues, and student discipline. She served as in-house counsel to one of the largest school districts in the State of Georgia. With her extensive experience in dealing with issues that face public schools, Ms. Eaves provides school systems with sound, practical, proven advice on legal options and strategy. She is a popular speaker and is in demand to train school administrators and teachers in federal and state law compliance.

Ms. Eaves is a magna cum laude graduate of Carson-Newman College. She also holds a Master of Arts in Teaching degree from The Citadel. Ms. Eaves earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina where she served as Executive Editor of the South Carolina Law Review and was the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law II.

She has successfully defended school districts in a number of special education cases at the administrative hearing level as well as in the United States District Court, including W.C. v. Cobb County School District, 407 F. Supp. 2d 1351 (2005), and M.A. v. Cobb County School District, Civil Action No.1:04-CV-02355-ODE (N.D. Ga. 2005).

Ms. Eaves was admitted to the South Carolina Bar (1984) and the State Bar of Georgia (1989). She brings a unique perspective to the practice of education law having taught for nine years in the public schools of South Carolina. She continues to work with children as a Sunday School teacher of first and second graders at North River Baptist Church where she has also served as a Deacon.
