Dr. Dishman is a dedicated and sought-after education law expert, both as an experienced and a well-respected teacher and scholar of education law. Dr. Dishman’s purpose is to provide school districts with responsive, proactive legal representation focusing on preventing legal problems through client education. Dr. Dishman’s active practice consists exclusively in advising public school districts on legal issues, and he frequently consults on federal and state employment law issues in schools and related policy development. He also has been appointed by national insurance carriers to defend public school districts in federal employment litigation. Dr. Dishman concurrently serves as an associate professor in the Department of Educational Leadership at Kennesaw State University. In this capacity, Dr. Dishman teaches school law, educational ethics, human resources, and transformational leadership practice in graduate degree programs in education. His students consistently rate his classes highly, indicating they are rigorous, useful, and among their favorites. A frequently requested speaker at state, national and international conferences, Dr. Dishman’s presentations are noted for being both highly informative and highly entertaining. Dr. Dishman presently serves on the Editorial Board of The Peabody Journal of Education, housed at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University, which is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious refereed journals in education. He has authored numerous articles and provided countless hours of training to board members, education law attorneys, school district staff, and others.
