Mr. Gregory practices in the area of corporate and commercial transactions and business law. He is a member of the Corporate and Transactional Department and currently serves as the Managing Partner for the firm. He is experienced in mergers and acquisitions, corporate, partnership and LLC formation (including shareholder agreements), contract negotiations, distribution agreements, corporate governance and succession planning. Mr. Gregory serves as corporate counsel for numerous corporations and, as such, assists the board of directors and corporate officers with risk avoidance, corporate governance issues, contract negotiations, implementation of policies and procedures and in the development and execution of business plans and strategies, among other services. He is also experienced with real estate development and management of construction projects. In 1998, he was appointed by Governor Roy E. Barnes to the position of Chief Legal Counsel for the newly formed Georgia Regional Transportation Authority. As legal counsel for the Authority, Mr. Gregory worked closely with the Governor's office to draft the initial policies and procedures, construct transportation agreements, advise the Board of Directors on legal and corporate governance issues and assisted in the selection of an Executive Director. On a personal level, Mr. Gregory is active in his community. He is a Senior High Youth Group Leader and Deacon at the First Presbyterian Church of Marietta, a member of the Rotary Club of Marietta, and serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Cobb County. Mr. Gregory also organized and serves as the Vice-Chairman of the Board of Directors of NorthWest Bank & Trust, a local community bank in Acworth, Georgia. Mr. Gregory was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1995. |
