Eric A. Brewton has extensive civil litigation experience. In his work with the Georgia Attorney General’s Office, Mr. Brewton litigated complex personal injury and wrongful death cases. He developed considerable expertise in highway construction litigation, which is invaluable to highway contractors who are involved in personal injury litigation arising out of worksite accidents. Mr. Brewton has also developed expertise with regard to insurance defense matters. He has represented clients in premises liability, motor carrier, malicious prosecution and products liability cases. In representing Brock Clay’s education clients, Mr. Brewton has successfully defended actions brought against School Districts and their employees, which actions include contract disputes, civil rights actions, employment matters, and tort actions. Mr. Brewton’s government background has allowed him to develop expertise in the areas of sovereign immunity, official immunity and qualified immunity. Mr. Brewton is a member of the Cobb County Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association and the Defense Research Institute. He was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 1983 and has litigated cases in every area of the State. Mr. Brewton is actively involved in the community. He has been a volunteer leader with Young Life for over 20 years and teaches high school students in the Youth Ministry in his church. He is a graduate of Leadership Cobb. He has also previously served on the Cobb County Commission on Children and Youth.
